Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope that you are all having fun with family and friends, while BBQing some yummy food and waiting for the fireworks to start!
What a better way to celebrate our wonderful Countries Birthday then with a pattern round up! I didn’t personally get to work on any Red, White and Blue items this year, but that doesn’t mean I can enjoy looking at some! I have scoped out the internet and found some of my favorite Fourth of July projects that I want to share with you!
While making this list, I wanted to find stuff that you could do, the kids could do/wear and stuff for the house. That is why I decided to share the projects that I have in the above picture with you.
1. Pin Wheel Hairclips – by Cutesy Crafts – Aren’t this little clips so cute! I can see them being used in my girls hair as well as for embellishments for other projects!
2. Patriotic Crocheted Stars – Repeat Crafter Me – These have to be the cutest stars that I have come across! They have some awesome detail and are so versatile! I could see these used as an embellishment, a hair clip or maybe even attach some rings to them for jewelry or wine glass charms!
Repeat Crafter Me
3. Patriotic String Lights – Jonathan Fong – I used to make these with my Mom was I was much younger. But instead of circular light decorations we made ours in the shape of eggs for Easter and hung them from the trees outside. They were always super fun to make! So, I think this would be an easy project for you to make with the kiddos!
4. Fourth of July Firework Hand Prints – A Little’ Pinch of Perfect – Yes, I have kids. As I am sure you all know by now. So, I am a sucker for anything made with their hand or foot prints! I remember the first year after Miss S was born, I made hand print stuff with the girls for every holiday. And made four of each on so that I could send them to their Grandparents too! Because come on… what Grandparent doesn’t love seeing homemade gifts from their Grandbabies?!?
Aren’t these little projects make you inspired to make some Red, White & Blue stuff? I know I will be making some of these but on a later date since I have run out of time to do them for this year.
Now you all have to share your Fourth of July projects with me! What is your favorite thing to make for this glorious holiday?!
This pattern test will certainly make you go “awe”! I have a couple of friends with little girls so I just had to make a pair of these little Bloomers for one of them! I mean they are totally cute right?! Who wouldn’t make a little one in their life a couple of pairs of these?!
As always Christine’s patterns are super easy to follow along and understand. Don’t fret if you do come across something that makes you go hmmm, because she has really good customer service when it comes to her patterns!
I usually stick to hats when I crochet/knit things. But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work on this one! Plus, I just knew there would be someone that could be a little model for it for me!
As always, the pattern was very easy to follow. You construct it one leg at a time before joining them together to do the main part of the bloomer. The pattern includes sizes from 0-3 months all the way up to 3t! How awesome is that?! They were so easy and fast to make that I can easily see myself making them in different sizes and colors so that my girls can wear them for a long time!
She suggested that we used either Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton or Caron Simply Soft, which is what I used. I just love how soft this yarn is and the sheen is to die for! Super cute! Here are a couple pictures of my little model wearing the Bloomer Shorts that I made using Sweet Potato 3’s pattern.
Don’t they look so cute?! Just imagine all of the possibilities that you can have with different yarn and ribbon colors!

I working on another super cute pattern test for Sew Much Love Patterns after I finished up the test for the Pencil Scarf. This little cutie is called the Button Girl Camera Giggle. This project was one that I have never done before so I was surprised by how quickly it was finished! I will be honest I was a little nervous about using a hair band with my project. I thought that it would have been a lot harder to get the yarn to work with it, but I quickly learned that it was a piece of cake. The stretch of the hair band allows you to create more room when making the first row of stitches. Another thing that I loved was that she included three different ways to make the eyes! I asked my girls which way I should make them and they picked the buttons. 🙂
I can imagine so many color combinations to do this cute little camera giggle as well as different ways to create the pigtails (I think the next one I make will have braided pigtails)!

I have been working on this project for awhile because other projects kept coming up, but once I got into it, it really works up fast. Sweet Potato 3 Patterns did an awesome job with the texture on this set, I just LOVE it! Perfect for any little boy (or older one too since the pattern goes from Toddlers to Adults). She created the set with the perfect amount of stripes on it to create the right amount of detail to go with the texture. To work up this pattern you just need to know simple crochet stitches like Single Crochet (sc) and Half Double Crochet (hdc).
I can definitely see myself making more of these sets (especially since the majority of my family lives on the East Coast. hehehe).

If she releases more then 3 patterns during the month then you will also get those. This is an awesome deal if you ask me! 🙂
